MC, writer, and pioneering artist of Kingmakers Music. AMARI has a rhyme style that includes conscious, introspective, hype, slow, fast, double time, melodic, or aggressive with a message. He has been developing his skill for over a decade. He prides himself on being as artistically free as he can and explores various lanes without being boxed in to one style. AMARI has performed all over the Bay Area including Bandcamp Studios, and many performances supporting Kingmakers of Oakland including headlining closing night at the Spring Symposium.
He has shared the same stage with his musical peers such as Jwalt, Basi and Dre Banga, and was a performer for Hiero Day 2023. AMARI is heavily featured on all of Kingmakers Music releases with stand out songs like “Public Criticism,” and “Im A King.” AMARI also works in the community supporting youth and enjoys writing and studying musical greats. MC, writer, A&R and pioneering artist of Kingmakers Music. Zo1 describes his rhyme style as lyrical, experimental, conscious, introspective and unique. He likes his lyrics to stand out and be distinct while also being in alignment with the musical vibration. He also likes to sing and add melodic elements to songs as an example of his range. ZO1 has performed in Ghana and all over the Caribbean with Oakland youth group Young Gifted and Black. He has also performed on Shade 45’s Morning Show “Sway in the Morning.” His writing and creative expression is informed by life experiences, how he envisions the world, and uses storytelling as a way to convey multilayered messages to empower others.
Zo1 has shared the same stage with Souls of Mischief, T-Pain, Blackstar, and Mistah Fab, along with some of his peers and contemporaries including 9Letters (RIP), SinQ, B.Deveaux and Jada Imani. Zo1 is on a mission to create timeless music to uplift the global community. He also is the lead featured artist and A&R for “Black Love” the latest album by Kingmakers Music. Kahlil began spoken word at eight years old and transitioned to rap exclusively at 13. His raps, heavily influenced by his poetry, are introspective and authentic while deeply rooted in Oakland's Black historical context. Kahlil has performed at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, the Midway in San Francisco and Emancipation Square in Ghana West Africa. He has been on bills with Kev Choice, Afterthought, and Ajai Kasim. Chatmon gains inspiration from those who came before him and the legacy they left.
"It is my intention to inspire those younger than myself to continue the legacy. In 100 years people will know that it is our responsibility to create the world we want for ourselves and our communities, whether you're in the classroom or in the studio. "
